Default Garden Frog

hi all, i've tried to upload an attachment for the first time.
it's a picture of a frog in my back garden,taken last september.(2006).
around late september/ early october we seemed to have an unusually high number of visitors.
i tried to upload , in my opinion, a better photo than this one but an error box appeared, telling me that the file size was too big.
apparently with my kodak easyshare jpg pictures, the biggest file size i can upload is around 570 kb. most of my images are 1 to 2mb in size. is there a secret to sending larger file sizes or am i snookered?
i only use a bog standard kodak easyshare 4mega pixel digital at the moment.
any tips would be gratefully recieved.
regards andrew.
p.s. hope this works!!!
