Equipment: Nothing but my notebook which is one of the most important parts of birding. To go out without it (which I only ever did once) is like going out without your pants on. I've never understood why I responded to the 'Cameras and Equipment' question in this way because in reality I own a Leica Telescope with eyepieces, Zeiss Binoculars, and a Manfrotto Tripod all of which cost a positive fortune.

Beryl.

If ever you see a Teal with a white marking - which runs vertical down the side of the birds breast as opposed to the one running horizontal above the birds flank as in your picture here - then you would be looking at a Green-winged Teal, the American cousin to our Teal.

So that's Scaup (not Tufty) and Green-winged Teal (not Teal) you're looking for now Beryl.

Interesting, isn't it!

Pete.
