Equipment: Nothing but my notebook which is one of the most important parts of birding. To go out without it (which I only ever did once) is like going out without your pants on. I've never understood why I responded to the 'Cameras and Equipment' question in this way because in reality I own a Leica Telescope with eyepieces, Zeiss Binoculars, and a Manfrotto Tripod all of which cost a positive fortune.

Default Snow Bunting

First a couple of negative comments on this image.

1) You wouldn't cut your finger on the sharpness of it.

2) A little out of season the bird being a winter visitor to our coast and never
in 'mega' numbers.

The Snow Bunting visits us mainly from Scandinavia and Greenland though a few breed on the high mountains of Scotland.

I remember getting up one winters morning to be at Lytham - a few miles down the coast from Blackpool - at daybreak to be there before all those lovely little/big doggies which don't ever 'mix' with the birds and bird watching.

Pete.

Well what a beautiful bird, well spotted Pete, bet it made your day. What month did you take this shot in? I feel a trip to St Annes is on the cards sometime in the future

A little ancient this one Babs taken 2 Dec 2004.

Next winter I will let you know if any turn up within striking distance of you perhaps one Sat/Sun......promise but can't guarantee the bird will keep the same promise in turning up.

Pete.
