Default Poppy Seed Head - Garden Poppy

This was one of my early photos with a digital camera (and the first photos that I had taken for a few years). I still go back to this one as I love the Poppy seed capsules for their simplicity of shape and the way they manage to get so many variations on brown! These ones are quite solid, but the wild ones are wonderfully small and delicate in comparison. When I was young, for my ceramics exam I made a vase that was based on the shape of a more slender one of these... just upside-down!

Very nice
If you shake them you can here the seeds and you can keep them once dried to scatter at a later date. But I expect you already know that
