Default Red deer.. hind and stags at leighton moss rspb

it was a delight to see these red deer today at leighton moss rspb reserve. there were three stags sat at ease on the edge of the reed bed. a hind was just to on side but sat in the reeds. she later came out for a stretch and a clean.

Lovely photos Andrew.
I'm hoping to see these when I go up to Yateley later this year at Moor Green Lakes nature reserve

Equipment: Nothing but my notebook which is one of the most important parts of birding. To go out without it (which I only ever did once) is like going out without your pants on. I've never understood why I responded to the 'Cameras and Equipment' question in this way because in reality I own a Leica Telescope with eyepieces, Zeiss Binoculars, and a Manfrotto Tripod all of which cost a positive fortune.

Andy I'm trying not to go over the top with my diplomacy here, but would you consider your 'deer' to be Red?

Pete.

yes quite right. a freudian slip on my part. i had made afew errors that night whilst posting my other threads. i had asked rolf to correct an earlier post.
i had typed in stags and hinds ( red deer) rather than bucks and does ( roe deer) though why i posted them as roe is anyones guess. i was half watching tv as i was on't computer. apologies for my mistake, though it was merely a typing error and not an id one.
if rolf would be so kind as to correct this for me , thanks
