I really have never seen one of these before I took this or since. well that is to say I don't think I have .
And I don't know what it is. It is about the size of a thrush.
I think it might be a Redwing

I think you may be right Chocky, this is my target bird for this Christmas in France, as they normally knock around with Fieldfares.

I thought so.
I captured it last year in Mark's garden. It's a frequent visitor and I have some where it shows a bright red under wing but they were taken on other days and are blurred. I didn't have the camera I have now. It's quite a nice pic considering.
They don't seam to come down here. I haven't seen any.The Fieldfare is darker isn't it?
Hope you capture one I have never seen a Fieldfare. I will be looking out for it too now

Yes, different colouring, I've never seen either over here, but they are winter passage visitors to most of England.
