Yes Probably .He was kept in an enclosure to prevent being taken most of the chicks and signets are until big enough to fend for themselves. People take them too and some the crested duckling ( Bee-hive hair style )have to be kept warm ,they have a lethal gene and if both genes are present in the egg they don't reach hatching stage at all
