It popped in and out of the bush so quickly I only managed one shot. It seems to black for a juvenile blackbird. It's rather cute

It certainly looks like a juvenile Blackbird, perhaps it was a very early one.

I think I have to agree that beak is rather a give it away isn't it? But it doesn't have a gape
It just seams more chocolate brown than most ?

Equipment: Nothing but my notebook which is one of the most important parts of birding. To go out without it (which I only ever did once) is like going out without your pants on. I've never understood why I responded to the 'Cameras and Equipment' question in this way because in reality I own a Leica Telescope with eyepieces, Zeiss Binoculars, and a Manfrotto Tripod all of which cost a positive fortune.
