    Default Common Sawfly (family Tenthredinidae)

    I have been unable to confirm the exact name - it's very, very similar to Tenthredo scrophulariae, but there's a variation with the banding that makes me think it's different. I've given up

    Thanks Beryl, but I have accessed a number of online guides - just couldn't find one insect exactly the same, although Tenthredo scrophulariae is almost identical - just one ring and a couple of yellow patches short.

    I think that this sawfly may appear in different striped versions.
