Thanks rolf, it's one of out favorite places where we go walking but it's a real steep climb to get there but the views are well worth all the hard work

Thanks rolf and chocky and thanks too to digidark, yes I see your point and I do agree with you totally. I have cropped this pic in the past and yes it does look much better minus the branch

Don't crop Babs, use the healing brush in photoshop.

Errrrrrrr healing brush.....I have to confess rolf I have paint shop pro 7 and don't use it. I only use picasa, I just can't get my head round the paint shop, but to be honest I haven't tried hard enough to learn it, never read the manual for my cameras either

Yes, the healing brush can paint an area with the colour of an adjacent area.

Also tried using a contrast mask to lighten the foreground slightly, although I think I prefer it with the darker foreground. You can have a lot of fun with photoshop.

PS. Hope you don't mind me manipulating your photos.

Right I think I have found the tool, it's called the magic wand and it has highlighted the area I want to get rid of, trouble is I don't know what to do next

No the wand is different.

The healing tool is down two then left. ( like the Album title.) It alternates with the patch an colour replacement tool.

You can use the clone and clone in the sky. You said you had learned to clone
