lovely shot chocky, i can just pick out the red sandstone cliff face which i always remember about your lovely part of the world. when i was a young boy, we spent our family holiday (every year for 13 years) in brixham. as we had no car ,we travelled by train. when i saw the red cliffs at dawlish i knew we were almost there...oh happy days!!

the first ones were...( you used to come back in with a dirty face if you stuck you head out of the window).. then they went to the diesel ones as i grew older. we went on the dart valley steam railway in the 80's with my own family, that was good. i actually saw a steam train on the 8th of feb this year!!, i had just m.o.t'd my car. the garage was next to a railway bridge . as i got back in my car a chuffer train went passed. i did'nt expect to see that!!.
we took our grandson to a place near skipton. at easter and august bank holidays , you can ride on a steam train decked out like thomas the tank engine.. the kids love it. ![]() |
