You don't need a garden, go to the park and count there. All of the information is on the page I've linked to.

Entered my results, not very spectacular, there were more birds yesterday, but not a bad showing for a small garden.

21,000 online submissions so far.

I have only a few. As you know I don't have a garden so counted the birds from my house to the Estuary . Any after that would really have been cheating as it really is a garden count and I pass lots of gardens going to the estuary.

I did mine on Saturday, now if I'd have done it on Sunday instaed I wouldn't have got as many birds but I could have included Goldcrest, Bullfinch, Siskins and Nuthatch to the list and Greg saw and photographed a Common Redpoll perched on a branch with the House Sparrows. He thought now that looks a bit different and we have been given a positive ID from the photo. It is not as common as the Lesser Redpoll so we are quite chuffed to have a new visitor visit us and one that is not so common

Strange isn't it, I wonder if a lot of people who do not always put food out, put it out on Sunday morning.

Be interested in seeing the Redpoll photos, as I've never seen one in the flesh.

Here you go then rolf, not brilliant but you can at least see it's not a house sparrow. I went out to try and spot it myself but it was a no show for me. Hope it returns at the weekend

Thanks rolf, I will try to improve on the quality of the shot, there again it could just have been a one off. Still the firecrest appeared again on Sunday so you never know. Tell you what I wasn't this lucky this time last year, I have already had three new arrivals this year and we are still in January
