Default Interesting project I've just started

I belong to a general photography website and one of the groups on there is called "100 strangers". The idea is to go to 100 strangers, engage them in conversation and take their portrait. The goal is to enable you to take better photos of strangers by enabling you to approach them easily and also to improve technical skill. As well as the photo you have to post a few details about the contact and the people. It's actually quite interesting to read other peoples stories.

It's on www.100strangers.com

I did my first one (well, 4 actually) today. It's surprisingly nerve-wracking considering that I'm not a shrinking violet. The photos aren't brilliant, but that improves once you get past the 'flight or fight' feeling - apparently

Amazingly - one bloke allowed me to take the photo once he understood what my goal was, but although he spoke to me he didn't want me to use any of his details, not even his first name - and he had no interest in knowing the website even though he did have the internet.

I can see this being a very interesting project, and I'm getting quite excited about it!

I wouldn't think it would be. I wouldn't be able to do a project like that. So keep up the good work

Thanks for that, Andy - I'm on number 6 now. Unlike others, I've not had a refusal yet, but I did try to ask 2 people in a row today that didn't speak english :-) It's quite addictive! I'm not passed from nerves to setting up good photos yet (any good photo has been luck rather than planning!), but I'll get there :-)
