Hi everyone, I hope this forum is a success because the subject is so enjoyable.

I really enjoy the beauty of most birds, especially those which are of the more colourful variety.

I have taken quite a lot of shots with my Fuji Finepix S7000 in the past but because we now have 2 cats, we don't get too many in the garden as the feeder has been put away for the birds' safety.

Over in Portugal last year we relly enjoyed watching the hoopoe which is in my avatar. I took quite a few photos over there but the avatar pic is courtesy of Rolf who found that one for me.

Welcome to our little forum jimbo.

There aren't too many mainland European birds which are more striking than the Hoopoe.
