Default Common Blue Butterfly - Polyommatus icarus

The blue one is the male, the brown one the female (underwing also of the female). I found the male picture and then carried on looking for the name of the brown one. After lots of fruitless looking I discovered it was the female of the species Since they were at the same spot at the same time and had similar shape etc I should have known.... but I am learning

These were in France, Northern half of the country.

Beautiful captures Louise, that Fuji seems to handle macro very well.

Yep, I'm impressed by the macro on this camera - so many of these macro shots involve me leaning over with nothing to steady me... so it could be even better if I had a monopod

Some one has nicked my book too.
It could be a Dune beetle. Or a Soldier Beetle or a cardinal Beetle.
