Default Chinese Goose: Anser cygnoides

This is the Chinese goose and several can be found swimming freely in the Dawlish. It originated in China. Domesticated from the Swan Goose in Central Siberia over 2,000 years ago, the Chinese Goose is the smallest of all domestic geese.

I'm with Chocky on this one. I also have a picture of one, I got it when I visited a garden centre in France.

On looking this up I found these interesting facts (well, interesting to me!):

"If children are present always buy well handles stock as the geese are terrified of small humans.
They are succeptible to severe cold and have been recorded as getting frostbite and burns on their facial knob . They are also very keen as a breed to take on small yappy dogs and for the dogs own protection keep them away especially at breeding time when ganders attack on sight.........Poodles and Chihouhuas for preference as their call is similar to the Fox."

Nice capture.
Yes. They can be very aggressive I have heard
Here in the southwest it's mild in the winter so they thrive well. I ay have a female from a previous visit I'll have a look
