Default White Crested duckling

This little duckling i in an enclosure and being kept warm probably by infrared
He will be snow white when full grown
These crested ducks were originally bred in America so I have read and are Black and white. They have since been inter bread with mallards and been UK for about 400 years but no one really know where they originated
The crested gene in these ducks is linked to a lethal condition during incubation. Ducklings carrying both genes (homozygous) for the crest do not survive to hatch.

Equipment: Nothing but my notebook which is one of the most important parts of birding. To go out without it (which I only ever did once) is like going out without your pants on. I've never understood why I responded to the 'Cameras and Equipment' question in this way because in reality I own a Leica Telescope with eyepieces, Zeiss Binoculars, and a Manfrotto Tripod all of which cost a positive fortune.
