This little duckling i in an enclosure and being kept warm probably by infrared
He will be snow white when full grown These crested ducks were originally bred in America so I have read and are Black and white. They have since been inter bread with mallards and been UK for about 400 years but no one really know where they originated The crested gene in these ducks is linked to a lethal condition during incubation. Ducklings carrying both genes (homozygous) for the crest do not survive to hatch. |
