OH! I was having trouble figuring what this bird was and the I watched your video Chocs and was even more uncertain. So be I right or be I wrong on the name

Yep . A Red shoveler but not indigenous to the UK. Native to Argentina

Equipment: Nothing but my notebook which is one of the most important parts of birding. To go out without it (which I only ever did once) is like going out without your pants on. I've never understood why I responded to the 'Cameras and Equipment' question in this way because in reality I own a Leica Telescope with eyepieces, Zeiss Binoculars, and a Manfrotto Tripod all of which cost a positive fortune.

Yes Red Shoveler though this image does'nt quite show the 'shoveler' bill as large as it really is. An interesting pic of an interesting duck.

The expanded version went out of the window and on to Preston 21 miles down the M6 from here.
