Default New Equipment this year ?

Is any one thinking of buying any new equipment this year?

I am thinking of buying a new Standard 50mm -300mm Telephoto lens for my Nikon D50 and also thinking of buying the Lowepro Mini Trekker back pack

I actually bought a Sigma 70-300 mm dg macro lens.

Bought all of mine last year, including the 70-300mm lens, it will be interesting to see what others have in mind.

Had a look at the Lowepro Mini Trekker back pack and the local shop wanted £99.99 for it so I am going to have to shop around. I think it can be bought for a good deal less

Thanks for that Rolf. I knew It could b bought for less. I saw it in Digital Photography Mag about a year ago for £50. So that would be about the price now.

Well . I bought most of the equipment I mentioned.
I bought a Sigma DG Macro 70-300 mm lens
A 2X teleplus converter
My latest additions to my gear is a new camera Nikon D80. A 1.5X teleplus converter the Tamrac Expedition 7 backpack to carry all my equipment plus a laptop
The expedition 7 caries laptops to 15.4" screen

BTW. The Equipment you see in the bag is to show what the bag carries. It is not my equipment

Well done Beryl, like you i have also made a couple of new equipment acquisitions lately, last of which was an Olympus extension tube for macro work, the EX-25 and a camouflage waterproof lightweight camera cover.

Great. The extension tube sound very good . Are we to have a photo of it?

Yes I need to get a water proof camera cover. I often get caught in the rain

You need to put a picture of your 70-300 in the first post as well.

Equipment: Nothing but my notebook which is one of the most important parts of birding. To go out without it (which I only ever did once) is like going out without your pants on. I've never understood why I responded to the 'Cameras and Equipment' question in this way because in reality I own a Leica Telescope with eyepieces, Zeiss Binoculars, and a Manfrotto Tripod all of which cost a positive fortune.

Rolf mentioned the 7dayshop website early in this thread which iv'e not yet had a very thorough look through but I can tell you it is pretty much unbeatable pricewise for printer catridges......until someone tells me otherwise.

Pete.
