Another excellent place to visit in the West Country is Bowling Green Marsh.
An interesting nature reserve. I spent the day walking along the sea wall from Topsham and round to the reserve. there is a hide and many people go with their digiscopes. Very pleasant http://www.rspb.org.uk/reserves/guid...uary/index.asp Have added some photos here of the reserve where you can see some young bullocks and ducks and the second photo shows Shoveler ducks(similar to mallards with shovel shaped beaks) and close toe the Marsh on the reserve some Black-tailed Godwits |

Looks nice.
I have been to Topsham but not birdwatching. I have a friend who moved to Exeter a couple of years back and he showed me the area. It would be good to know other bird watching places in that area as my daughter will soon be attending Exeter Uni and my wife and I will be down Exeter way every so often. wild goose |

Oh. My Grand daughter stats Exeter UNI this year.
There are a few places to go But not RSPB If you look up Exe nature reserve you will find a few places of interest. The exe estuary is the largest nature reserve in the country http://www.birdguides.com/sites/area.asp?a=9 And there are places dotted about all the way along the Estuaey. Bowling Green marsh is just one of them |
