a little about me
Hi I am fairly new having joined back in October last year, this is my first post. I live in Barkham, Wokingham and I am an enthusiastic amateur photographer, my speciality is wildlife visiting the hides locally most of the time with the occasional visit to other varying places. I am retired with 3 grown children and started seriously into photography about 4 years ago, mostly self taught. I have a Nikon D300 and a 500mm prime lens sometimes using a 1.4 tc but for that you need good light and recently its been to dark and dismal for the tc so most of my pics are taken with the 500 on its own. I saw the Water Rail recently at Lavell's my first shot was rubbish with a branch in front of the bird but today I have posted a half decent picture and hope you may like it and find it of some interest.
Ann or Pluckyfilly is my user name

Hi Ann, the river path is very muddy and slippy at the moment.
You missed a good day for water rails today.

Welcome to the madness Ann, Im sure you know who I am by my username. I havent been over to Lavell`s for a long time, been very busy staying at my local patches, from what Ive heard the new hide at Lea Farm is way too far away from the wildlife for any decent photo`s.

Yes Aaron I know you of course I do - re the new hide its very poash I took a walk last weekend to have a look, there were 4 other members in there - my only gripe, its a bit far to walk for me with all my kit and the trolley but later as some of the newly planted reeds take effect I think it will be interesting - I will go back again sometime weather permitting.
