Kingfisher and young Moorhen at Lavell's lake Winnersh

Popped down to Lavell's lake yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours, a well overdue visit.:)

Since my last visit the friends of the lake have installed a Kinfisher perch opposite Tern Hide and lo and behold after an hour, one turned up for a minute or so, unfortunately wouldn't keep very still.:)

The lake level is very low at the moment, apparently a problem with the sluice gate and pump, it badly needs water, as the main scrape is completely dry.

Ooh, a Kingfisher! I was thinking off putting up a branch in a good spot at the river near my work - they are there... apparently :)

Yep do it Louise, they love these perches.:)

That's right.A chap walks in the brook from his house all the way down to the Estuary sticking large twigs in the embankment for the kingfisher and it uses them too
