Had he by now given up trying with the sparrows in the adjacent bush, or was he just stopping for a breather. :)

Nice one. Well captured. :)
Found this one taken on my old Fuji, had forgotten I'd taken it. :)
That is a cracker. Look at the expression ion his face 'Shall I, Shan't I?
Great capture Rolf. :)
Two excellent shots of the Sparrowhawk with the first one taking the biscuit for me Rolf......WOW!!
Pete.
Wow rolf, nice colour and detail in both shots, I love em both, but the second one is my favourite, the look on his face is perfect :)
Thanks all, on the first one he was trying to penetrate a Mahonia bush, which was also interlaced with Honeysuckle and having a hard time, in the second one, he was looking wistfully up into the Amelanchier tree, where the birds were hiding. :) Wasn't successful on that visit from memory. :)
No but once they 'latch' on to a location where they know there's a meal they don't forget any more than the Elephant does Rolf.
Pete.
I think getting stuck in the garden shed a year or so afterwards put him off eventually Pete, haven't seen one in the garden since. Much as I think they are beautiful, I'm pleased that they don't seem to be dining on my restaurant customers.:)
Nice captures Rolf. I do like the second one , seams to be lookingin woneder
Both are super shots indeed Rolf - but the second floats my boat more than the first!
Stunning shots!
