Waxwing
Probably the worst Waxwing photograph made public and really should have been disposed of in 'the bin' but couldn't resist showing it. Seen today with eighteen others at a small village called Levens near Kendal in Cumbria. A beautiful creature (take a good look at that crest) with many hundreds over from Scandinavia to spend the winter months in the UK.
Not good enough for the 'Gallery' I'm afraid.
Pete.
P.S.
I took it through my binoculars which Iv'e done before, so hows that for improvisation.

I've been watching the reports Pete, hopefully some will appear down my way. :)

There is absolutely no reason why they shouldn't reach you Rolf. Just keep looking at every thing that has a berry attached to it.

Think I'll subscribe to the birdguides texts.

Well there's a thought Rolf, but think long and hard before making that decision, it costs money and the question you have to ask yourself is......will I get value for money from it.
I subscribe to a pager service which costs 'lots' but whether I gain any advantage from the service is questionable I can tell you. For a start I am in no way a hardened 'twitcher' and they are the ones who really pay for what they want and get.
