I would have to look up the information, but the two types of Spider mentioned were a False Widow (female more apt to cause a visit to hospital for us) and a type of Funnel (or Tube) Web Spider, found in amongst the heather of the New Forest (for example).:eek:
I'm almost certain it was Chris Packham who talked about them on TV - though cannot be sure!:conf40:

Wow, that's scary Catherine.
I do tend to avoid contact with spiders partly due to the fact that I don't want them running off up my arm and disappearing and getting squashed, but also a lingering wariness of them even though I know it's silly..... maybe it's not that silly?
