Great - multi-moths! I got a couple the other day but not half as good as this, so I was still in 2 minds whether to post.
Well noticed, Joe!:)
It's also interesting to see what plants attract moths and butterflies.
(If you check Burnet Moths on Google Images, you'll see many of those are either on Knapweed or Scabious - just like yours!)
Nice shots Joe, those are Six-spot Burnets.:)
Excellent captures Joe.
It's a good point,Catherine - if you want to catch a particular insect then you need to learn what it likes. I plan to do that at some point to catch those that I've not seen yet.
I didnt realise there was different types of these moths. Must get a better book.
I only knew that from being on here - I saw my first one at the weekend (actually I think there were 2 different ones - but I only got a shot of one). You can learn a lot on here :)
Yes. There is also a Five spot Burnet
Louise, please post your pics. its always nice to see other peoples.
OK, I'll see if I can sort them out - it was rather windy, and adding that to chasing them about, they weren't as nice as I would like :)
Mine was upside down, I was laying on the ground to take it and even then didn't really work.:)
Snap - the same shot!!! Mind you, I didn't lie on the floor as Rolf did.. i just snuck back and shot him doing so!
My first came out better than I thought, but the second isn't very good (it was blowy and nothing stayed still)... but it does show the underwing at least.
LOL, that's brilliant, didn't realise you'd done that. :-HaHaHa
