Snipe
This is a snipe not a jack snipe, took us in the hide around a hour of debate to decide as the bird was about 2 meters away it was lovely to see them close. The decider was when a wood pigion sat next to it and we got the book to tell us pigions are double there size so that defined it!!:-HaHaHa:-HaHaHa

he sat for ages, and spent a lot of time worm fighting.. even squared up to a goose.... was amazing to see so close, last one i saw was eaten!!

I don't think I've ever seen a Jack Snipe. Would their having a shorter bill help with ID?

shorter bill, brighter straw colour and 3 times smaller than a penguin! i ment pidgon
