reeves pheasant (male)
whilst walking in the dunsop valley area of the trough of bowland, i noticed what i though was a pheasant up on the hillside. on closer inspection i found it to be a reeves pheasant. this was probably an escapee, living happily 'wild'. they are originally from china. this male bird was stunningly marked. it was a real surprise for me!!

You're right Andy, they are superb birds, just looked at the map and the are apparently now breeding in Northern France.
