Ergorest Multipod Review
Just noticed that 7dayshop have this little Finnish wonder at a superb price now, only £38.99 (less than I paid last year):3sad: . I've had mine for a while and use it for either clipping on the side window of the van so that I can take shots from inside, or as a chest brace, when walking through the woods. I have bought a tilt and swivel head for it as well, as you'll need it for moving the camera when it is static mounted. I am looking to upgrade the head to a more substantial one, but they can be very expensive. :)
It can be used also as a table stand for substantial cameras, used it last Christmas with my remote control. :)
See post further down for pictures of Ergorest Multipod in use.

I like the new tri pod that has a special head (sold seperately) where by you can take out the main shaft and push it through the head so you have a horizonthal swivaling , I can't explain this , it's lik a cross bar and the camera can go on eithe side.
Ha ha . If you undersand that ......well.
I will Try to find a pic of one. They are over £100 though
Mine is a Hama 39.99

Sounds interesting Chocky, will be interested in seeing the pictures.

I can't find it. It was in the local Camera shop. I just thought it was interesring, it was sort of like em a normal tripod with a like, you could take the shaft out from the centre and with a special head ( bought seperatly ) set the shaft accross the to horisontaly and . well (I',m not doing very well here am I ) the camera can go either end. I'll have to talk to Gerry at the shop and find out a bit more or get some pics. Lol

Found one . It looks intersting to me .
this is similar to the one I saw.
-
Ah yes, have seen them, very good for Macro photography or the like. :)
-
Yes. Because you can position the camera to look down and such like and get into into a bushes with out disurbing what ever your looking at like bugs and things and it can reach out over a pond or ledge /wall yes would think useful
Very expensive, the tripod is about £99 and the head is near that too
P.S.
What I mean is the tripod can stay on firm ground whilst you wade into the pond or climb over the wall sorry, it's difficult to explain but I'm sure you know what I mean.

Just received the new head, it is a cracker. :)
-
That looks really good. Hmmm another toy for my colection tho think about.
I have a telescope with similar turning handles , you can get a more acurate point rather than shoving the camere this way and that.
I'm not too hot on puting things intowords am I Lol
-
They also have one with a quick release pistiol grip, but it locks when you let go of thegrip and this is no good if you are focussing and pressing the button at the same time.
-
I'll remember that.
I have an ordinary Hama tripod. I use it more for the camcorder not that I camcord much I think there is more excitment in still Photography as you capture a moment in time and mor there is more skill

Very interssting . pretty nifty gadgets there I have added that site to my favorites.
I found the Bino clamps interesting I have a pare a=of bins that I can see Jupitor and it's 4 moons with. Holding them steady is some thing else and there is no way they can be fittedt to a triopod but that site has some that couls work. I actually bought the bins 100s of years ago to look at swans out on the estuary, they are so powerful you can see Jupitor and other planets too
-
Yes it is a good site Chocky, I have now bought a Tripod and and now a Head from them, they speak good English, very helpful, the turnaround is quick and whilst the postage for the products is slightly more than if you bought in the UK, the prices are so much better. :)

Sounds good. I havre the site in my favoritses now

Just taken a couple of photos with the Ergorest in all four usage states, Tabletop, Car Window, Chest brace and collapsed, it is shown with my new pan and tilt head installed, but a smaller head would probably be better for travelling.
-
The car window one is a good iedea. I don't drive any more. But I still think it's a very good thing to have . Think I'll probabkly get one then I can take it on car journeies when the other is driving

Have you seen this little beauty?
-
Yes, the Gorillapod, have tried one, but only good for the camera with a small lens, could be very useful if you were space limited though. :)
-
I haven't seen one for real. Pics don't really give you a svisual sort of size. I tlooks fscinating

Got one last Christmas for my nephew, it is the heavy duty one, he seems to get on with it, can just about hold a camera with a telephoto, but great for a standard lens.
