Grand Designs for Terns

The summer tern colony at RSPB's Belfast Harbour Reserve (Window on Wildlife) is one of the most accessible in the UK and Ireland; it offers visitors the chance to come close to these fantastic birds whilst being in comfortable surroundings. The man-made islands on which the birds nest can deteriorate over time and are at risk from predation but now thanks to funding from the Biffa Award these islands are being transformed into safe and sustainable homes for the birds.
