Ooh, Matron!
Ok, so it's not exactly anything to do with wildlife, but I thought this might raise a smile :)
I am holding a still-growing 'Sicilian Serpent Squash'. They can grown up to 2 metres long. I don't think this one grew much longer but it did thicken out quite a bit. I love the name, and can just imagine 'Sicilian Serpents' taking the place of 'etchings' in gardeners' chat up lines ;)

Crumbs, don't think I've seen one of those before Louise, do they taste like a normal marrow/courgette?

I don't like squash or turnups or marrows. Psrsnups are ok
and yes wow that is a cracker:4-bounce:.

It is courgette-ish, but firmer, less watery and with a much better taste. Of preference you should have them when they are smaller, but when they are bigger you need to peel them and discard the centre with the seeds. I love them. Unfortunately this year's weather has rather held them back a bit so I'm not sure if I will be able to get such a big one this year.
Chocky - you wouldn't like my garden produce then - I have 16 or 17 squash plants of various sorts!!!

Uhg Don't like any of those. I was made to sit and stare at them till tea time when I was little if I didn't eat them :3sad:
Only uncooked chuchum in a peanut butter sandwich.:-rofl
