I like the second Siskin shot Joe, it's a bit different.:) Haven't seen one for ages.
Like that second Siskin shot too - typical Siskin pose, upside down!:)
The LTT after is is really great, and a ringed Great Tit is a worthwhile find.
I'm sorry for that poor Chaffinch though. Its ankles are so badly affected by warts. Sad :(
I hadn't noticed that Catherine, they don't appear to be too bothered by it though.
There were about a dozen siskin in the trees. I hate shooting against the light, makes exposures difficult.
Some nice shots there, Joe. I like the upside-down Siskin (that would make me fall of my perch if I had to eat upside down!), but I like the first Blue-Tit - it's a real "yep, I'm gorgeous" pose. Mind you, the LTT isn't exactly looking shy about his pose :) It's such a buigger trying to sort out exposure - either it's a lovley day an it's too bright... or it's cloudy and the white clouds make it too bright... or it's dull clouds and you can't see a thing. It's hard being a bird-snapper!!!!! :-doh
Nice day today so revisited Lea Farm. Here are some pics from today.
Amazing what a bit of sunshine will do Joe, really nice photos.:)
Thanks Rolf, incidently there is NO access to Lea farm hide at the moment as the lock is broken (will not open ) and Frasier is away on holiday. one the siskins is ringed.
Some lovely shots again, Joe!:)
I love Siskins, They look so tiny when you see them beside Greenfinches and other birds.
Love the LTTs - but what a grumpy Dunnock in that second last pic!
Yes, another ringed bird in that collection. Would they most likely have been ringed at Lea Farm?
A superb set of shots. Catherine is right about the grumpy Dunnock - obviously got out of the wrong side of the bed!
thank you for the compliments. I think that some ringing is done at Lavell's lake, but they never announce when it is being done.
It is the lock on the hide itself not the one on the gate from the path, So if it was vandals they must know the new combination to be able to get to the hide.
Oh right, perhaps someone has accidentally managed to reset it, although it is difficult to do it accidentally.
