Do birds like the rain because it cleans their feathers, like saves having a bath. I ask this question because often when it's pouring down I often see birds just sitting out in the open on the perches around my feeders. The Collared Doves and the Wood Pigeon are the ones who do it the most:)
They probably do like it in the summer, bet they're not so keen in the winter though. :)
They do like a shower. I used to squirt my Rinneck with a spray bottle until he was drenched. :-rofl He loved it and tried to catch it in his beak

Babs, I should add that in earlier times I was known to go out onto my flat's balcony when it rained and stand there in my underwear as I loved the rain... and I didn't do it to avoid baths!!!!! Maybe it feels nice to them.. or they are as sad as me :-)

I know... I was a bit of a rebel in my youth. It was in the middle of a London estate, so I may well have had an audience. I didn't consider it at the time - I was young and reckless.... also I had a better body:)
