This poor thing had been trying to get airbourne for ages, it also needed feeding,so much so that it virtually sat on my shoe whilst I was setting myself up. Luckily one of its parents came to its aid. I hope tou enjoy my little video, I know you will enjoy the birds antics

Thanks Beryl. It was great to watch. We had a short break in the Yorkshire Dales at our usual place in Ingleton.Joyce and I (Joyce for those who don't already know is my better half. She is known on site as Toots, Too busy to put in much of an appearence a present but retires in April so expect to get pestered) The owner of the B and B we stay at says it is a regular thing for the Sparrows too kick the young out of the nest if they don't want to try the "flight thing" (they still look after them though as you can see in the video) We were going out for a meal at 6.00pm(1800 if you have been brainwash) when we spotted it. It was still there when we returned two hours later (It wasn't a two hour meal, it just took me a while to walk there and back). So up to the Room grab the Video camera and start grabbing footage. How lucky was I that it managed to take off in about 20 minutes (how lucky was I too be there when it did)
