Beats me Beryl, looked through my book and there is nothing which matches.
Me too. I thought it was a Rose chafer but they don't have stripes like that and the Collorado beetle which is like it hads yellow wing cases and black stripes.
I wonder what it is I have never seen one before . Unless these beetles have variants sort of thing

Excellent little pic, excellent little beetle, and excellent Rolf for doing the search to discover what it was. I was intrigued and according to the description doesn't sound like I'm going to see one up here in the frozen north.
