Small White Butterfly - Pieris rapae

I've seen only a handful of butterflies in the garden this year, so I watched this little lady as she investigated my veg plot for a prospective egg-laying spot ( I assume!). The poor little thing was getting rather confused as, due to cat activity I have to net all of my veg plants, not just things like cabbages. She was hovering about over my lettuce patch wondering why she couldn't quite reach any of the green stuff :) Tired after all the searching she decide to snack on my flowering chives.... so I pounced.

Nice one, love the colour of their eyes.:)

I have to admit that that's what I love about a close-up on the whites - their fantastic eyes.
