Another 'Hi!'
Hi,
I live in Henley-on-Thames since the beginning of 2008 and its been the first time I've lived somewhere with a garden! This week I have been graced with regular visits from a Song Thrush and male and female Blackcap. Another highlight are the Goldfinches that often number 10+.
I've been birding for a year although it seems like a lifetime. I've never been more than a local twitcher (30-60 mins driving), but my interests more recently have turned to very local birding for both environmental and economic reasons. By very local I mean walking distance. I have downloaded the bird list for the 3km square 'patch' around my house from BirdTrack and next year I intend to see everything on it and hopefully add more. It shouldn't be too hard as I am responsible for most of the records on this list from 2008, but I have some Bird Atlas tetrads to fit in too.
Also in 2009 I will be feeding mealworms in my garden for the first time and seeing if I can get some Blue Tits in my nest box.
Looking forward to 2009!
