Aw, that's so sad for such a beautiful insect (though such good pics) .. :(

What you don't see, Catherine, is that there were thousands of them about (I couldn't get a shot that showed that properly) - they really wouldn't miss the odd one, and anyway, I love spiders and they need to eat!
