Red Kite surprise.

On Tuesday I was sitting having breakfast in the living room when just 20 feet or so in front of me a Red Kite swooped down to the road. I couldn't see what it was collecting but it sure woke me up :)

Mind you, earlier this evening I was in the greenhouse when I heard the young blackbird squeaking away (what sort of a girly noise is that for such a big bird!!) and all of a sudden it landed on the greenhouse roof just above my head, 6 inches away. I got a good chance to study the lovely patterns on the feathers... and to see up close what it looked like when it pooped onto the glass ;)

Yep, they are there when you least expect them, have had them swoop down in front of me when I've been driving on several occasions.
