Screaming Grey Heron
To dayI went along the nature walk then alongt the sea front ,cut through town, along the estuary and finaly the to the loacal park ( really tired ) at the park the Grey Heron was standing in the brook. After a few minutes of being sujected to my camrea he took of .Suddenly two Crows set apon him and wow was he scared. He mad an about turn and started screeching, so loudly I was scared. He got away from the crows flew round in circle and made off some where. Realy quite frightening , such a huge bird.
This is he just escaping from the Crows still screeching.

I've never heard a Heron call Chocky, just checked on my British Birds DVDROM and I see what you mean. :)

It was awful and really loud. I have often wondered what they sound like too. Well now I know. I don't have the call , my disc only has smaller birds, doesn't cover Stoks etc. I will have to pay a visit to the Library's sound department.

Why would crows set up on a heron in a brook - can't be protecting eggs?
