Sandford Lake Wednesday
Lovely to see this skein of Canada Geese, about 50 all told.
Look at the Grebe, bottom left, you can just see a Damselfly resting on a broken reed that's partly submerged.
The Cormorant was clearly the dominant bird as he'd flown off for a feed and when he came back this was the result; he displaced the junior bird, no fuss, just looked at it and away it flew.

Yes, it always great to see a skein, but really nice to see a big one like that. There's something about the sixth shot that just makes feel that he is considering pecking the bum of the one who's head down.. maybe it's just me ;)

Unfortunately he'd have had a broken bill if he had as that was a rock
