    Extinction threat to 1 in 5 of world's plants. A global analysis of extinction risk for the world's plants, conducted by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew together with the Natural History Museum, London and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), is revealed today.

    Oh, dear!

    Well, I hope the first to go with be all these pernicious garden weeds - like Ground Elder and Couch Grass.

    Next in line for extinction should be the Japanese Knotweed and Himalayan Balsam groups.

    If only Nature could be selective in the RIGHT way. But then, maybe she knows something worthwhile about them that we don't.......... yet!
