Here is the Tesco Vane.
That's an interesting one Beryl, looks too old for a Tesco building.
I thought it a nice one
Hmm was probably there when Clark's shoe factory owned the building
Found this Vane today at the other end of Exmouth. I went fora walk after leaving the health centre and walked about 6 miles .
I think this must be a club of toxophily.
Probably not Beryl, a lot of them have arrows on. Here's a vane I spotted this morning on St Mary's church, Mortimer.
That's a nice on. Mine was on a sort of large shed in the classy side of town. I just thought it looked a bit Robin Hood - ish
I'll try and find out.
Here's one from the 1920s, found in Emmer Green near Reading.
Highway men . Excellent find well done.
Here are a couple from Goring on Thames today, rather interesting I thought.
Very. Well spotted. Nice ones too
Found this one this afternoon.
Suddenly the post office had a vane. I have never see nit before. Such are my powers of observation
The wind it blew but in vain
For the top had gone from the vane
It has lost all direction
And in need of correction
It is driving me clearly insane
That's a cracker Rolf. A real beauty. Well observed
I find the same Beryl, don't always notice things I should. Looks like someone's nicked the top bit.
Yes. It could have blown away in a storm hope it still counts
Don't think I'll upload it to the Wellenkamp forum though
Another vane from Topsham.
Missed this the last two visits
Well done Beryl, they are hiding everywhere.
Thank you Rolf
Lol. I know I was wlking along the usual rout and i though I don't remember that So snapped it and checked and nope it's not there
Wow what fabulous weather vanes you have all been spotting. I took these on my recent trip to Oban in Scotland
Some nice ones there Babs, i like the little boat.
Well done Babs .
Some of the weather vanes are really super .
Two more vanes.
A cute little church on the outskirts of Exmouth. Which has a dovene in Exmouth town Which looks to have lost it directions
Not fantastic as I only had my small camera and it was so High any how It's Wandford Church Extere
Nice ones Beryl, missed the earlier two.
Thanks Rolf
Now you have me at it!
Heres the vane on top of the lighthouse at Flamborough Head on the Yorkshire coast.
Well done Ross, thought we'd get you eventually.
The best shot would have been standing off to the right about 30 yards from where that was taken from - unfortunaty Id have needed to be levitating over the edge of the cliff
Nice one. Well done Ross.
It's addictive you know
Spotted these at Keyhaven, slightly different from the norm.
yes they are. Well done Rolf
Capyured this one today from the mane Exeter shopping center
I hade to use my phone as I was not with camera, so it isn't very good . I was o a little church a little hidden so only captured the top
There seems to be quite a few very similar ones down your way, they must have used a single vane supplier, which I guess would make a lot of sense.
Yes and they all have different numbers . I can't see the number on that one. They all seam vary old though.
I think they may have the number of the address
These are in and mainly around Exeter
I am beginning to get the bug for this. It looks interesting and addictive
I will keep my eye open for some
Here are three weather vanes from my travels roday, the first being Swallowfield Village Hall, very appropriate I thought, the second is Beech Hill Church and the third is a house opposite the church.
Well done Rolf.
Haven't seen any for ages
This one is on one of our sheds but could do with a coat of paint though....................anyone got a ladder and a paintbrush
That's a nice one Babs and in your own backyard as well.
