Nice - I rarely see any caterpillars. Fantastic shots
I have a caterpillar book (which makes it MUCH easier to work out what they are), and I reckon the first 2 shots are probably a Knot Grass Moth (Acronicta rumicis), but I can't be sure with the third.
Thanks Louise. I had my suspicions on shots 1 & 2, but no ideas at all on the 3 rd.
It always helps having more than one ID - the differences are often little things, so the more who take a look, the more likely that those tiny differences will be spotted by someone... that's why I rarely say that my ID is 100%
Isn't the third the same type?
It could well be, Rolf - but I wasn't sure enough.
Dont think so Rolf as the colours / markings are different. (having searched through a book my thoughts are a peacock but still not sure.)
