Yes excellent, certainly a place I'd like to see in real life.
Absolutely spectacular, Crister!
It's one of these places which has been founded on an area of natural beauty and dramatic landscape - like Edinburgh, Scarborough and Oban in the UK.
I feel safer watching that than I would being there though - as I understand that the crime rate is high as there are so many very poor people desperate to survive in those streets.
Which town/city is Sweden's crowning glory? I've never been there either.
Had this song in my head all day since reading this, only just found out who sang it.
I like it too. It has been played on the TV a lot these last weeks after Davy Jones (another Monkee) died a month ago.
These were the days of happy songs you could sing along to - or am I just being old-fashioned?
There're still a lot of nice sing along songs Catherine, but that was a great era.
Here's one.
Ah, they start so young nowadays, don't they?
I used to love playing Neil Sedaka's songs in the juke box during school lunchtimes in the 60s. He wrote many famous songs for other singers too, and I don't think he ever got enough credit for them! This was one of my favourites;
Neil Sedaka Songs - Little Devil Song Lyrics, Music Video
Yes, Neil has some great songs under his belt, didn't realise what a hard time he had at times.
I think that Stockholm is the Swedish Crown. It is built on some island, lots of bridges and plenty of clear water( You can actually drink it)
We also have the wonder of tens of thousand island just outside the city - all the way to Finland (well almost)
So Stockholm is the wonder in the summertime, it´s called the Northern Venedig !
Is 'Venedig' Venice?
Edinburgh is often called 'The Athens of the North', but people still have money there!
Sorry, Venice for You English guys
ENGLISH????
Now, Crister, you may call me 'British' as I'm very proud to be - but ENGLISH?
Even if I wanted to be I couldn't - although I'm happy to be Scottish!
(Mind you, Stockholm still sounds lovely. )
