Actually, it isn't as old as I'd thought, being mid 80s to early 90s.
Clue: It isn't American.
It sounds like some sort of grand Dallas/Dynasty type of family drama... it isn't particularly familiar, but then the tune isn't that memorable... apart from the bits that they have ripped off from other themes!
Not as grand as perhaps the music would suggest.
In fact I've just checked and there was a similarly named series back in 1959, that's why I thought it was older.

Your clue says it wasnt American,so that could mean its from anywhere else but America. Can't decide whether I am being logical or silly but will try "Sons and Daughters"
