The age of steam
Taken on a day out to the Buckfastleigh butterfly farm and Otter sanctuary .
ah.... bringing back some lovely memories of a great family holiday, down in your lovely part of the world. as ive said in an earlier post, went to the butterfly/otter sanctuary and had a ride on the trains here. this railway is where my second oldest son graeme, who is 25 now , took his very first photograph. it was of the rest of our family on the station. he made a good first attempt, getting us all in the frame and central.
Hey Beryl, where have you been hiding these steam train piccies, great to see
Thanks all.
I took more of the trains then the butterflies I shrink to say.
Made a DVD slide show even. May upload it later in the second video section
well beryl, you made me go up into the loft and look at some old photographs....not a bad thing.. anyway, it was 1990 when i visited. i only had three boys then ( went onto to have our fourth son,two years later.)
these are two pictures taken off old photos. i looked at numbers on your trains to see it was the one we rode on but it was'nt!!
the thornbury castle train was just ''parked up'' we rode on the other. thats my young family at the side of the thornbury castle.
Lovely .
Wait until later tonight I'm just finishing my slide show video and will upload it later. I's Pete's doing not mine He started it
Babs, Beryl, Andy (in no particular order) thanks a lot for sharing these excellent and exciting steam train pics......brilliant each and every one.
