Must get over to there one day Aaron, great shot of the Bittern, even better that he's on the ice so the feet are plainly visible.
Its abit of a drive, but I stopped there on my way to North Wales over the christtmas period, plenty of bullfinches there, feildfare,I also saw a sparrowhawk,it is supposed to be a top place for Kingfishers, plenty of perches outside all the hides for them, but as you can see from the bittern photo, the place was frozen,so they were all down river.
If you want to see bitterns,I went to the London Wetlands Centre on thursday and saw three. Here is an inflight shot I took on thursday.
both shots are great, rarer still to get one flying. mike
Wonderful photos of a 'not often seen' bird!
Ooh, love the flying shot.
Those are both stunning shots! Good effort mate.
Lovely shots. A bird I have yet to see
