Default First Post - Hope You All Enjoy The Terns

I was up so early this morning taking photo's for my OU course that the ducks and swans were still asleep when I got to the canal.

Anyway, a little later in the morning, about 8-00am, the Terns decided they'd play nearly nicely and I got some so-so shots, unfortunately their breeding island is too far from the edge of the lake and their flight paths are so unpredictable. Anyway, I tried and these are the results, along with what I think is a juvenile Chaffinch.

Nice shots Eddy, I presume that's the main lake at Thatcham, difficult birds to capture in flight.

Very good pics, Eddy. I particularly like the 3rd and 4th ones.

These birds are truly amazing in flight - and you did really well to capture them in action!

Thanks to you both. Yes the lake is at the Discovery Centre in Thatcham and ye they are a b****r to get on image.

P.S. The size of my uploaded images makes them look a whole lot better than they are though, but I still like the praise, thanks

Contrary to popular opinion, in photography size DOES matter - just in the opposite way from normal Nice set of shots - in #9 it makes me think of a Hummingbird!
