Default Grey Wagtail - Motacilla cinerea

Down by the lock, this bird was flying back and fore across the water collecting flies. It was lovely to watch, but damned difficult to catch. I stood there for a while both because it was entrancing to watch but also wanting to get a shot of it. I also decided to attempt to get it in flight, and surprise, surprise I managed a reasonable shot, albeit of its bum I finish the shots with the obligatory arty one

Lovely series Louise, such busy little birds and as you say, entrancing to watch.

How lovely! You've even managed to get one in flight. Now, you just need one actually catching a fly..............!

I did get one catching a fly, preparing it (a la Jamie Oliver) and then cooking it for dinner, Catherine... but didn't want to make you all jealous so haven't posted it

What I didn't say was that I've seen one at this location 2 times before, but normally up around the rubbish - this time it was at the cleaner end, so was a really nice experience for me. It really made my day!

Very nice. I see a few of these birds about but they hop and skip so much and then fly away, they're really frustrating. Well done for getting so many shots.
